It was the Vivaldi work that gave me the idea of doing The Seasons series, but it was a two-week period spent in the rocky grandeur of the Grampians in Western Victoria that gave the series its character and structure. The musical inspiration came from Mahler's Symphony No.1 and Strauss's Alpine Symphony.
With this series the geometrical style that I had been using since art school, came to an end, and I began experimenting with freer techniques.
