This series grew out of the previous Prometheus series. It continued my concern for 'all-over' paintings, using the same gestural underpinning, but now the brushstrokes began to take on a broader character. This allowed an opening up of the canvas, particularly with the first three large canvasses. I was frustrated with using brushes and sought a much more intimate connection to the surface of the canvas by applying the paint using my fingers. This added to the freedom of execution I was seeking. The final works in this series consisted of twelve pastel drawings and ten paintings.
